Founder Profile

Ratan Devkota is the founder and editorial director of Katha Express. A filmmaker and education researcher by training, he has spent over a decade documenting how Nepali society learns and changes.

Ratan began his career producing educational media with Kathmandu University School of Education, where the idea for Educast — a national conversation on learning — was born. He later went on to found Katha Express to give that conversation a permanent home.

His films have been screened at festivals across South Asia, and his work on alternative careers has reshaped how Nepali students think about the paths available to them.
